Democracy is still suffering from illness
Obzor magazine by Večernji list published an essay by Costica Bradatan, author of the book Dying for ideas, translated by TIM Press editor Dijana Bahtijari. Bradatan commented on his work and the ideas represented in it, in the context of contemporary social circumstances:
History – the only real guide when it comes to this topic – testifies to the fact that democracy is rare and transient. It mysteriously sparkles in some happy corner of the world and then disappears, almost as mysteriously. True democracy is hard to achieve, and once achieved it is fragile. In the broader context of human events, it is the exception, not the rule.
