Ivana Rešetar Čulo
Ivana Rešetar Čulo, PhD was born in 1980 in Našice. She graduated from the Faculty of Law in Osijek in 2004. She is the winner of the annual award of the „Lions club“ in Osijek for the best students of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University for 2001. She started her working career as a trainee judge and passed the Bar in 2006. In 2013, she successfully defended her specialist final thesis on the topic „The rights of the elderly in international law with special reference to the position of the elderly in the Republic of Croatia“ at the postgraduate specialist university study „Human Rights“ of the Faculty of Law Osijek. She received her doctorate in 2020 at the Osijek Faculty of Law, defending her dissertation on the topic „Legal protection of children from violence in international, regional and national law“. Since 2022, she has been the assistant at the Department of International Law, Legal Theory, Methodology, and Physical and Health Culture at the Osijek Faculty of Law. She mainly deals with the protection of human rights, especially the rights of children and the rights of the elderly, the protection of human rights in the digital age and the problem of poverty and social exclusion of vulnerable social groups. She has published several scientific papers and participated in several domestic and international conferences. In addition to scientific work, she practices law.
