Blaže Minevski

Blaže Minevski (born in 1961 in Gevgelija) is a Macedonian storyteller, novelist and playwright. He graduated from the interdisciplinary study of journalism at the Faculty of Law in Skopje. As a journalist, he worked in several newspapers and magazines.
He is a member of the Society of Macedonian Writers and the author of the following works: Tears in Dad's Eyes (stories, 1984); Low exercises (stories, 1988); Black Feather (novel, 1990); Ambushes for a white dream (stories, 1992); Ice Eye (stories, 1996); Balkan for children (novel, 1996); We should have taken a picture before we hated each other (novel, 1998); Former people (dramas, 2000); Dandelion season (stories, 2001); The Story of the Third (novel, 2003); Target (novel, 2007); The Black Fox (novel, 2012); Dramas (dramas, 2012); Me, Tito and Mickey Mouse (novel, 2014); Lenin's Lover (novel, 2017); In the bull's horn (stories, 2018); Mamli's network (novel, 2019); Phantom foot (novel, 2020); Selected Works in Five Volumes (2021)
Minevski is the winner of high journalistic awards: the „Krste Misirkov“ award of the Association of Macedonian Journalists (twice) and the first prize for the reporting of „Nova Makedonija“ twice. He is also the winner of literary awards: „Racin's Award“, „Stale Popov“, „Novel of the Year“, the award of the city of Skopje – „13. November“, the „Most Read Author“ award, recognitions awarded by the „St. Kliment Ohridski“ Public Library from Skopje, the „Masters of Prose“ award from the „Makedonija danas“ foundation and several awards at the National Festival of Macedonian Professional Theaters in Prilep.
Represented in all recent anthologies of Macedonian short stories, and his works have been translated into English, French, German, Russian, Romanian, Hungarian, Serbian, Slovenian, Croatian, Bulgarian, Polish, Spanish, Italian, Turkish, Albanian, Arabic, Chinese and Armenian language.
