The book of selected short stories Dandelion Season contains 18 of a total of 56 short stories collected in the first volume of selected works by Blaže Minevski, published in 2021 by Matica makedonska.
He is an universal writer, not because he simultaneously writes novels, short stories, plays and essays, not because his prose combines historical, psychological and political states, but because it is multi-layered and carries many messages. His stories are sad and poignant stories about one nation. They range from reality to fiction, from sheer writing, through true or fictitious copying, to correspondence, from reportage and feuilleton to reduced prose. That is why nothing in them is like in reality, although everything is taken from it.
With this book, Blaže Minevski convincingly and brilliantly confirms his high reputation as a storyteller, enriching the Macedonian and European prose treasury with top literary works.

Homer writes in the Iliad that there used to be entire herds of elephants and many lions on our prairies. Now, sitting in the yard under the plum tree, all I can remember is that we only have a few bears and maybe as many frightened lynxes. But let's leave the beasts aside. I am not disappointed with the beasts; I'm disappointed in people. Firstly – because the people do not want to read, and secondly – because the country is giving birth to more and more writers. There are so many, as they say, you can clean them up with a shovel and still have them left, but the state could not possibly give birth to readers. Therefore, I felt that there was no point in writing, and that is why I voluntarily stopped writing.
