Slobodan Šnajder died

On Sunday, August 30, at the age of 78, distinguished Croatian writer, playwright, novelist and essayist Slobodan Šnajder passed away.

His novel The Age of Brass was published by TIM press in 2015, followed by a second edition in 2016 and a third, expanded edition in 2018. A sweeping story of the fates of individuals and families against the backdrop of 20th-century European history, the novel quickly gained a wide readership and received no fewer than five major literary awards – the Meša Selimović Award, the Mirko Kovač Award, the Radomir Konstantinović Award, the Kočićevo pero Award, and the Tportal Award for Best Croatian Novel.
