„Memory can be scary but forgetting is scarier“
On May 30, the magazine „Obzor“ of Večernji list published an interview between Branimir Pofuk and Dražen Lalić, on the occasion of the publication and promotion of his new book Two Houses Above the Sea. Cultural Memory of Dalmatian Families. Lalić, among other things, emphasized the following: „This book is also about how, due to the diversity of heritage and traditions that have gathered within us, we are divided as individuals and as a community. That is our culture. And even the popular one. For example, someone likes to listen to Thompson and Mate Bulić the most, someone Nina Badrić and Doris Dragović, and I like Oliver and Arsen. Didn't we wish for a society in which we would freely express our cultural, political and other preferences?“
