Enzo Traverso closed the 7th FALIŠ Festival

Enzo Traverso closed this year's Festival of Alternative and Left Šibenik (FALIŠ) on Saturday, September 7th, by giving the lecture titled „Sickness of the Soul: Left-wing Melancholia“. He spoke of the left-wing melancholia, pointing out that socialism has become obsolete with the past and has become overwhelmed by melancholia. In his comprehensive lecture, he mentioned numerous works of art and films, through which he analyzed melancholia within the ideological beliefs that prevailed in socialism, and concluded that the left-wing melancholia was not new and that the historical turn of 1989 simply revealed, not created it.
