Book promotion – „Raspotočje burning. Psychoanalysis and everyday extremists“

After the book Capitalism and Death, Goran Pećanac returns to the literary scene with the book Raspotočje burning, in which, relying on a stricter psychoanalytical theory, he connects the intimate and the political. In twelve essays, the author explores the human condition as inherently extremist. This extremism appears in hidden addictions to high-intensity objects and phenomena, be it music, sports or love. The book, however, reverses the usual format of psychoanalytic literature, in which concepts are most often presented through the confessions of anonymous patients. In the book Raspotočje burning, Pećanac tells often unpleasant stories from his own sessions in which he as a patient is known, and the psychoanalysts, or psychoanalysts, are designated by pseudonyms.

The book is enriched with illustrations drawn by the artist Sebastian Angelo Zappa at art workshops at the psychiatric clinic in Brescia, and visitors to the presentation will be able to see an exhibition of these illustrations, which will be printed on A3 format using the risograph technique.

The book will be discussed by author Goran Pećanac and book editor Dijana Bahtijari, and the conversation will be moderated by one of the most famous cultural figures in Croatia, Vlatka Kolarović.

The presentation of this book is supported by TIM press, Smak Press and Studio galerija Klet, where you can buy your copy of Goran's new book at a promotional price on October 30th.

The title of the book is taken from the poem "Put u središte rudnika Kreka-Banovići" by Zabranjeno pušenje, the use of which was approved by the author of the text Sejo Sexon/Davor Sučić.
