Aspects of the New Right-Wing Extremism, „a frighteningly current“ book in the Annals

The Annals of the Croatian Political Science Association published Damjan Stanić’s review of the Adorno book Aspects of the New Right-Wing Extremism. Writing about the relatively quick translation of Adorno’s book, initially lectured back in 1967, but not transcribed and published until 2019, Stanić highlights:

„Aspects of the New Right-Wing Extremism is a completely atypical book on political theory, without clear-cut thematic sections, which shouldn’t be surprising considering it was initially not a book but a lecture. However, despite its content originating in 1967, the book is frighteningly current. It makes each reader shift the boundary of their cognitive comfort and reflect on the merit of what we might call right-wing extremism, as much so in 2021 as in 1967. This is, in its core, a book about the democratic system constantly being gnawed at by right-wing extremism using proper democratic methods, adapting and subjugating them, quite efficiently, to its own undemocratic goals.“
