Goran Pećanac
Goran Pećanac was born on January 14, 1981 in Sarajevo, where he spent his childhood as a refugee in a city under siege. He graduated from the Sarajevo Academy of Fine Arts, Department of Painting, in 2006. During his studies, he developed an interest in the art of patients suffering from schizophrenia and defended his thesis „Freud’s Unconscious in Fine Arts“ (2006). Since 2007, he has been working as an art director in marketing. He has spent a large part of his marketing career outside of Croatia. His theoretical texts are imbued with cultural and political experiences from the countries in which he has worked: Ukraine, Portugal, Lithuania, Brazil and Saudi Arabia. He wrote psychoanalytic theoretical texts on the topic of film and music (Croatian Film Yearbook, 2021–2024), and from 2016 to 2022 he published columns on martial arts on Telegram. In addition to political activism, fine arts, and literature, he plays guitar and sings in the partisan black metal bands SKOJ and Sedmi sekretar.
