Dražen Lalić

Dražen Lalić (born 1960) is a professor of sociology and political science at the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb. He has conducted several studies, using various methods, on topics related to violent and other behavior of fan groups, political and social aspects of football, drug abuse and addiction, election campaigns and elections, communication and actions of politicians, local politics, social crisis, Croatian history, and others. He has published a dozen books, either alone or in co-authorship, including Torcida: A View from the Inside (1993 and second, expanded edition 2011), Drug addicts: Obituaries (1997), Obama: Steep Paths to the White House (2009), Election Campaigns in Croatia. Two Studies on Three Election Competitions (2010), Facing the Past. Attitudes and Opinions of the Public and Actors in the Post-Cold War (2010), Five Years of Crisis (2014), and Forced Community. Essays in Obzor Večernji list 2016-2022. (2022). With collaborators, he has edited six collections of papers and other volumes. In addition, he is the author of almost a hundred professional papers in scientific journals and other publications. He has been a columnist and contributor to several weekly and daily newspapers and other media in Croatia. He lives and works in Zagreb, with frequent stays in Split and, whenever possible, in Tučepi and Vela Luka.
