New title – „The Individual in the Crowd“

Just before Interliber, a new book arrives that reflects on our time and society – Mirko Galić's The Individual in the Crowd brings a deep look at contemporary Croatia and its challenges.

The Individual in the Crowd. Political Reflections brings together writings spanning several years, conceived as both a chronicle of a particular era and a meditation on Croatia’s achievements and challenges, its perspectives and hopes. Drawing on his vast personal experience and knowledge, the author also turns to a wide range of sources and literature to portray as accurately as possible the state of affairs and political developments in Croatia. In this sense, the book serves as a valuable resource for understanding the times we live in and the country we inhabit. These essays approach major events, phenomena, and figures from multiple angles, focusing primarily on Croatia but also on other countries connected with it—especially on Europe and European politics. Covering a broad spectrum of current topics, the author treats them with journalistic rigor and insight, painting a realistic picture of Croatia’s state, society, and culture, as well as its spiritual, economic, and political dynamics. The Individual in the Crowd is a book about today’s Croatia—and about the Croatia that ought to be.
