Marin Galić

Marin Galić was born on January 22, 1972 in Rijeka. He is an assistant professor at the University of North, and has also worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb. He teaches courses in the fields of journalism, media production, PR and sports. He graduated in journalism from the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb, received his master's degree from the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb and his doctorate in information and communication sciences from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. He has more than thirty years of experience in journalism, publishing and media management. He was a journalist, editor and director in leading Croatian print and electronic media – Jutarnji list, HRT, Slobodna Dalmacija and Novi list. He held the position of director of the Croatian Tennis Association and director in an international corporation. He is the author of numerous specialized media projects and articles.
His scientific work is in the fields of sports journalism, political communication, digital technologies and sports management. He has published numerous scientific and professional papers, participated in world political science congresses (Lisbon, Buenos Aires) and numerous domestic and international conferences in the fields of communication, political science and kinesiology. He is the author of the book Electronics against Paper and the author of scientific articles in the fields of journalism, sports and public relations.
He is the recipient of the state award „Red hrvatskog pletera“. He used to be a professional sportsman, but today he is an amateur – he is a former football goalkeeper, multiple Croatian rally champion and long-distance runner with more than 50 completed marathons. He devotes his free time to writing, sports and educating young people.
