Selected topics from critical pedagogy is a new book by prof. Zlatko Miliša, PhD, prominent Croatian pedagogue, sociologist and social chronicler. The crisis of upbringing and authority, types of upbringing, positive and negative influences of social networks and technology on the lives of young people, the consequences of the pandemic on social relations and so-called global phenomena such as the power of money, wealth and poverty, criticism of banks and examples of freedom from debt are just a few of the topics that the author deals with in twenty-seven essays. With his critical and well-argued reflections, he guides us through many pressing problems of today, suggesting how to successfully deal with them.

With an interdisciplinary approach to the contents, the author of the book succeeds in satisfying the interests of the most demanding readership and realizing the intention to intrigue the reader and encourage him to take a critical approach to selected social problems, on which not only students and workers in education are invited to give their opinion, but also all those who are not satisfied with the level civil liberties and initiatives. This book encourages us to reflect on complex sociological, ethical, moral, communication, family and theological problems, as well as on others and other people, educational reality, the media, the state of society and the personal relationship to the transcendent.
prof. dr. sc. Mirko Lukaš
In Selected topics from critical pedagogy, Zlatko Miliša in an interterdisciplinary manner reflects on the current problems of today, such as the dangers of imposed divisions, indifferentism, consumerism, hedonism, authoritarianism, selfishness, excessive emphasis on the power of the group... Using a series of examples, he proves that knowledge is subject to change, and in pedagogy, he advocates a model in which teachers and students actively question the relationship between theory and practice, as well as critical analysis and imposed thinking.
