In the book Knowledge of Politics and Croatian Political Science in the European Context, its author, prof. dr. sc. Anđelko Milardović, a Croatian political scientist, sociologist and professor of political science, is passionate and at the same time participatory-analytical in his efforts to engage in a discussion on the fundamental issues of Croatian political science thought. As in some of the author's previous works dealing with various political and political phenomena (Euroscepticism, globalization, post-democracy), an unusual synthesis of meticulously performed theoretical analysis and passionate criticism of ideology according to Mannheim's model of sociology of knowledge can be noticed.

Starting from the premise that „what applies to politics must equally apply to scientific approach to it“, Milardović tries to prove that the history of a newer discipline within the social sciences in Croatia must necessarily be deconstructed.

The book Knowledge of Politics and Croatian Political Science in the European Context provides a historical overview of the development of political thought in Croatia. However, it is not only a classical historical account but also a systematic analysis of the development of political thought and the broader context that influenced that development. The author gives an overview of the history of Croatian political science and a clear and systematic overview of the dominant theoretical approaches and methodological settings in European and American political science of XX. and the beginning of XXI. century and with this work further enhances scientific and professional discussions on political science in general.
